Ok people, I want to make sure RPH2 is a relatively balanced rp site, free from powerplayers(people who rp superpowered characters), so I discussed some limitations with the admins for each race. When making your character, please keep in mind these limitations. Thank you for your cooperation!
Humans- Basically, humans in Vaenon are like humans in the real world. While some may be exceptional warriors, they begin with no 'magical' talent. However, this does not mean humans can never learn magic. In Ashokan University, there are classes which teach basic magic spells(nothing as powerful as say a shinobi or dragoon spell, but magic nonetheless). If you want your human to know magic, please have them attend the acadamy for at least a few threads. Otherwise, you are just better off with a more magical race(shinobi or dragoon). If your character has a magical weapon, try not to make it too omnipotent, otherwise we will simply not accept the character.
Anthromorphs- The same magic-wielding principle applies to the anthromorphs. Their strength lies in their shifting abilities and their natural heightened senses and agility. For now, I can think of no limits for this race alone, but if I see something overly-powerful, I will make note of it.
Dragoons- Besides being exceptional warriors, dragoons can of course use magic. However, the limitation is that they can only perform magic pertaining to their dragon spirit's element(you can only choose one). There is one ability that all dragoons are allowed to have, and that is the power of flight(which can vary between individuals as to how this occurs).
Griffon Riders- Griffon Riders are relatively straightforward. Their strength lies with their mounts. The only allowed spells a griffon can have are in protection and healing, though this is relatively a rare occurrance. GRs cannot cast magic themselves(unless they attend the University)
Shinobi- Shinobi are perhaps the most famous for using magic(although they call it jutsu). I recommend that if you are going to rp as a shinobi, you are familiar with certain techniques(if anyone watches or reads Naruto, theyll know what Im talking about). The limitation for shinobi is that the jutsus they can perform must be limited to a certain attributes. What I mean by this is that each individual shinobi can only perform a certain type of jutsu (healing, protection, offensive, etc). In other words, shinobis are specialists, each can only perform a certain genre of spells.
Samurai- Samurai hold their talents in whatever sword(s) they wield. Their techniques are varied, but are often not magical. Samurai may wield magical weapons, but please if you decide to do this, a)give a good enough description of how the weapon was obtained and what exactly it can do, and b)try not to make it a godlike weapon(a good example of an acceptable weapon would be a sword which can create flames or one that creates gusts of wind).
If you have any further questions on these limits(if you are concerned your character might be bordering on any of them), feel free to pm any of our admin staff and we will do our best to help you work out the kinks.
Also, if you feel that you can explain fairly well how your character can be an exception to these limits, again pm us and we may allow you to bypass some of the limits(though dont expect it)
Added Note: If you are an old member of RPH, I will allow your same characters any abilities that might go against these guidelines(such as multiple jutsus for shinobi and special spells for dragoons), simply because you were allowed it in RPH1. However, I am giving you this power to use responsibly, so do me a favor and dont make me scold you for powerplaying!
