Time has passed and the demon Seraphiel has already begun his takeover of Vaenon. Hundreds have joined his cause, either for their own selfish reasons, a hope for a better life, or simply because Seraphiel had become the missing piece of their life. Whatever the reason for joining, they have gone forth into the world under Seraphiel's orders. No race is safe from his reach, everywhere is under siege. Rarely does he follow his "troops" into battle, remaining in his crystal citadel, high atop Decimus Nocturne. He plans his next move, watches over his many followers, and discovers new ones day by day, his army growing steadily.
Many battles have already taken place, the world now fully aware of this hostile force, unheard of after peace had been declared only months ago. Some of these battles have taken place inside key cities, each victory for Seraphiel bringing him one step closer to his goal of making a new world, his ideal world. Champions of each race have risen up to meet Seraphiel's invaders, although even some of Vaenon's mightiest have fallen beneath Seraphiel's power.
Rahn, the capital of the dwindling human race, was the first to be attacked. Knowing that the current king was no pushover, Seraphiel sent one of his most powerful followers, the dragon anthromorph Carmaus. Using his overwhelming power, the anthromorph follower staged a jail-break in Rahn's deepest dungeons, where some of Vaenon's most deadly criminals were locked away. With the pandemonium of the jail-break aiding him, Carmaus began to lay waste to Rahn's castle. Returning to his own castle burning, the human king Orion rushed to aid his people. Amidst the struggles between loyal Rahn knights and the villainous escapees, Orion faced off one-on-one against Carmaus. It was an epic battle, Orion pulling out all the stops in order to combat his overly-powerful foe. After many a blow had been traded, it seemed as though Carmaus would be defeated. However, before Orion could land a final blow, the dragon anthromorph called upon the power of a gem that Seraphiel had given to him. Using its magic, Carmaus transformed into a full-fledged dragon, ten times stronger than his usual dragon form. With this insane power boost, Carmaus leveled the ground floor of Rahn's castle, burying many in a heap of rubble. At the last second, a wounded Orion (he was struck by Carmaus's swinging tail), was carried off by a knight and one of his most trusted friends, a woman dragoon by the name of Taylan. Rahn, the capital city of the humans, no longer has its king, his castle in shambles, and the kingdom now under supervision by its conquerer, Carmaus.
Amon Zoru, the newly built city of the anthromorphs, was targeted soon afterwards. Seraphiel sent the mysterious shinobi Vincent for the job. With no apparent leader of the race, the anthromorphs soon found their city in flames, the peace shattered by Vincent and the band of anthromorph criminals he had freed, using a tactic similar to what Carmaus had done in Rahn. However, Vincent was badly wounded thanks to the teamwork of two anthromorphs, Ertai and Ashara. Vincent retreated to Seraphiel's citadel, leaving Amon Zoru in ruins. Seraphiel decided to enter Amon Zoru himself, wanting to make an example out of the city for the rest of Vaenon, so that they could "all see the glorious benefits of the new era", not to mention prove how futile it would be to resist him.
Mizukage, the largest known shinobi village was next to fall. Initially, it had been attacked by the deadly knight known as Leon, although the necromantic follower of Seraphiel was thwarted by the village's leader, or Hokage, Nitsua. Leon seemed to have some secret goal in mind, but what could it be? Regardless, less than a week later, Seraphiel sent two of his "elite" followers, the anthromorph Vorel and Vincent, as well as a small army of others who followed him. While Vincent caused a panic amongst the villagers with an army of shadow clones, Vorel managed to assassinate the leader who had taken charge of the village in Nitsua's absence. Now leaderless, the remaining villagers, many just innocent civilians, succumbed to Vincent's order to remain indoors in permanent lock down. A few proud warriors managed to escape the madness and now are working on either warning other races and other villages of their own kind, or planning a counter-attack in order to reclaim their lost capital.
Arkazan, the griffin rider capital, came under siege soon after. Even Seraphiel's youngest follower, the shadow anthromorph Holly was enough to throw the entire mountain city into chaos. Epic battles were fought here, Holly aided by the comical, yet powerful human mage Omio. On the defense, there was the griffin rider queen, Lasair, as well as the visiting leader of the Samurai, Gennosuke. These two alone proved their strength by beating back the invaders without giving them a single inch. Unfortunately, after receiving a mortal blow, Lasair was knocked into a deep coma, of which she has yet to come out of. Without their leader to guide them, the griffin riders were thrown into disarray, fearing an attack at any moment. It was at this time that Seraphiel took the opportunity to make his appearance in the crumbling city. With his unmatched power, he quickly forced the griffin riders to accept his followers' temporary rule. Holly and Omio have disappeared, whether or not they survived their retreat, only Seraphiel knows.
Strangely, two races have yet to be attacked by Seraphiel's forces. The samurai's capital, Terrayama and the capital of the dragoons, Pharlen. Not even his closest followers know the reason Seraphiel has not given the order to attack either city. One can only hope these two capitals fare better than those that have already fell to the one called Seraphiel.
