Orion made his way unattended through the gates of the newly established Ashokan University. It gave him great joy to know that such a place as Ashokan existed, where any and all races from all over Vaenon were welcome to learn as equals. It formed bonds between the different races and created lifelong friendships, all while educating whomever was interested in history, science, and even magic. It almost made the king jealous. Had such a place existed when he was younger, he might not have had to train so hard to learn as much as he could.
The headmaster, also known as the principle of the school greeted him at the front door. The man was quite old, a flowing silver beard and receding hairline helping to give him quite the ancient look. Half moon spectacles rested upon his nose, giving him the look of a scholar as well. Despite his age, the headmaster was a man who commanded respect. Very few who disagreed with him were able to maintain their arguments for long. He was a true leader, and a perfect model for the head of Ashokan. He gave Orion a warm smile, knowing the king was a strong supporter of the University as well as one of its prime benefactors. After the formalities had ended, the headmaster lead Orion through the large doors of the school's main hall.
After walking through the halls for some time, exchanging conversation with the headmaster, as well as admiring the extreme variety of students which roamed the halls, they came to a stop outside a large lecture hall. The old man gave the king a smile and spoke softly, yet his tone held a certain firmness to it as well "I know you have a busy schedule your highness, and again we here at Ashokan want to thank you for your time. Good luck, my former pupil."
Orion gave a soft laugh, the last title one he could never quite forget. He simply nodded and stepped into the room, where already a large gathering of students had assembled into various seats. Taking his place at a podium directly in the center of the room (where magical runes were carved into the floor in order to amplify the voice of whomever stood between them), Orion took a moment to look at everyone in the room.
This is where our future lies...
"Hello everyone! My name is Orion Armstrong. Some of you may know me as the king of Rahn. Ive come here today as a guest speaker to see just how well the students here in this University are doing? Today we will cover numerous topics, such as history, science, and magic. We shall start first with history. Ill do my best not to bore you all, so do bear with me. Does anyone know when the first major war between the Griffon Riders and the Dragoon races began?"
