The meeting had just ended. The followers had filed out of the large room in their own fashion one by one. All that remained was Seraphiel and a very large black griffon. The master of the citadel had his eyes closed, although he could "see" all that was around him just as easily as though they were open. As to what was going on in his mind, not even one who could read thoughts could possibly decipher the ancient mind of a Creator. The only hint was that same cold smile that always seemed to play across his lips.
Opening his eyes, he turned to the black griffon, suddenly recalling it's companion's words to him privately. He smirked, having little idea of exactly what she meant, but having a few guesses in mind. Nodding to the large beast, he made his way slowly out of the room, his steps calm, his hands neatly placed inside his coat pockets. Moving through the seemingly endless halls, he searched for her presence, finding it rather easily. Over the past few days, ever since she had arrived, the two had been rather...intimate. Such sensations that came from this interaction had made Seraphiel quite pleased, having not felt the need to experience it much in the past. Besides, each time they did it, he was sure of Sarai's loyalty, which surpassed even the most devoted of his followers. Walking into a seemingly empty room, he spoke aloud, closing the door behind him.
"So...what is this new life you speak of?"

Sarai stood by the the double doors that led to the balcony, staring out of the transparent crystal at the night sky. Her blond hair held a pastel hue, her amber eyes soft and gentle. Few times would one catch her like this, calm and relaxed. Perhaps it was being with Seraphiel that made her this way...or perhaps it was that she now knew something that changed her.
She heard him before he spoke, listening to the door shut as he entered the room. She turned to see him, a bright smile on her face as she pranced over to him and pressed her lips against his in a passionate manner. She let her tongue slide into his mouth for a moment, tasting him as she loved to do. When she pulled away, a new look was on her face.
"Come with me..." she told him, taking his hand and leading him to the bed. She sat on the end, her ankles crossed as her eyes twinkled. "Something has changed...can you sense it?"
She blinked long lashes, her hand still holding his. Slowly she brought his hand and rested it on her lower stomach, her eyes still glittering. "Can you sense it now?"

He smiled as he always did when she came over to him, her movements graceful and entrancing as always. He savored the taste of her lips against his, moving his arm to wrap itself about her delicate waist. He felt her finally pull away and grasp his hand, pulling him to the bed. Watching as she sat herself down, he wondered what her answer would be. His hand moved with hers, touching her stomache, his eyes looking into hers as she spoke. For a moment, he sensed nothing, then, suddenly, he felt it. Life.
Seraphiel could not have smiled any wider as he looked into his beloved Sarai's eyes. He knew now what she was talking about. A child, their child, had come into being. It was a wonderful realization. He had created an entire race, but this, this was different. He had made this child like any other race of this world. Now he truly did have a legacy he could be confident in, for he now had something he never had before, a child. Grasping Sarai's hand tighter, he moved forward and kissed her lips tenderly, keeping the smile upon his lips as he withdrew slightly.
"This is quite a development. I must say I was quite surprised...Now, I must ask you my dear...are you happy with this?"

Sarai was pleased with his reaction, a smile painted on her lips with a brush that must have been magic to make her look so alive. Her eyes glittered and as he kissed her, she knew that this was all right. This was her purpose for being and this was what she had searched for. She had something to love and something to care for, as well as a duty to fuffill. His words made her see no hatred or intense power. Only a love for the one he stood before.
"I am..." she told him, returning his kiss. "But I do not want to be thought of as weak. I want to go with you and fight if I must. I will not let this affect who I am. But I will be careful..."
She slid down from the edge of the bed, the little black ribbons on her sleeves following the movement of her arms. She pressed her lips to his cheek, withdrawing from him as she turned. A shape had appeared in the doorway, golden eyes looking into the room. The dark griffon watched his master approach him, her pale hands sliding over his beak. For a moment he touched his head to her belly, a smile lighting on her face. Looking back at Seraphiel, she spoke once more.
"Do not worry, my love. I will be back before dawn...I need a few hours to think of what is coming. Come and find me if you must. I love you." She left the room, her hand on the arch of Kahbel's feathered neck as she left to go riding in the night sky. Many things were coming now...it was time for Sarai to prepare for them.

He nodded at her initial words, pleased that she was as happy as he was for this development. He chuckled under his breath at her request, nodding again in agreement, knowing he could not sway her from showing the world the devotion and strength of his followers. He felt her kiss his cheek softly, his eyes closing for a moment. When he opened them, she was off the bed and moving to her legendary winged mount, which seemed to also be aware of the new life in the citadel.
"Of course my dear. You will be every bit as important in this revolution as I. Tommorow you will accompany me to Amon Zoru, and we shall make the remaining anthromorphs there listen."
He raised an eyebrow when she suddenly spoke of leaving. What business did she mean? Sighing, he nodded once more, knowing there was no point in stopping her. He watched as she slowly left the room, her elegant figure dissapearing into the night. She was the only thing he loved as much as his passion for changing the world, and he would make sure that nothing would ever happen to her, Sarai, the carrier of his legacy.
