Chaos. Such was the state of the anthromorph capital after the attack. They had never seen it coming. To them, this was a time of peace, devoid of such things. But the horrible reality revealed itself that night when the fires began to burn, and the bodies piled high... It was the Omega, the end. And now, little did the anthromorphs know, the Alpha was arriving soon.
Standing atop the highest tower, Seraphiel looked out across a seemingly endless sky. Wind flew past his lone figure, threatening to push him off his perch to plummet down an incalculable height. But there he stood, unopposed, ice blue eyes seeming to see far more than what was directly in front of him. Things were going well, the battle was continuing and the resistance was becoming quite week. With each victory, more came to his side, pledging their loyalty to his will. It was going perfect, almost too perfect. Closing his eyes, the demon smirked, knowing the next thing to do.
"Time to take a little visit..."
An hour later, he was standing upon terra firma once more, the broken city of Amon Zoru in front of him. His hand was clasping that of his beloved, who had insisted upon joining him. Stroking her palm gently, he spoke, his eyes resting upon a single building up ahead.
"Its time to have a meeting with whomever is left in charge. Stay close my dear, I doubt our reception will be very welcome."
Letting go of her hand, he began to walk, leaving the dense jungle behind him to step right into the ash-filled streets of Amon Zoru. Many buildings were either burnt to the ground or scarred horribly. A few citizens were going about their business, their faces carrying the story of their ordeal. One noticed him, slitted eyes widening and pointing, speaking the word 'Ancient One' before running away as fast as his two legs would carry him. A cry went up, each slowly noticing the arrival of the intruder. More chaos ensued, Seraphiel calmly continuing to walk, practically ignoring the frightened citizens as they became aware of just who was in their city. One attempted to rush forth and attack Seraphiel and his lover with a knife, only to be stopped by a mysterious force surrounding them, which sent the attacker flying nearly a hundred feet away.
Walking up charred steps, Seraphiel stood before a large door. Grasping the handles, he walked in with a smile on his face, moving forward to look upon the figures before him.
"Ah, so I see a few councilmen survived the attack. How fortunate. Now then, I will make things simple. You saw what I did with just a handful of my followers, now if you do not wish for me to do it all again, you will accept my rules and live as I tell you to. I promise you, it will all be worth it in the end..."

Her eyes had not been so lively during their journey...that all changed when she saw the utter chaos of Amon Zoru. Columns of smoke rose from homes and barns, the people along the streets wide-eyed and lost within their devastation. The many anthromorphs held their children close, ears flat against their heads in terror. Strangely, Sarai held no pity for them. After all, what a great ruler were they about to meet.
She watched Seraphiel look out at the city that now was being overrun by the followers. What hope did they have left? She saw the fire in the eyes of those who continued to resist, the burning urge to claw and bite, punch and kick. What were they fighting for anymore? What were they holding on to...?
Stay close my dear, I doubt our reception will be very welcome....
As they entered the city, Sarai did not lose her wondering gaze. Her amber eyes focused on the faces of those around her, their fearful gazes making her grin darkly. And occasionally she caught an angry glance, one that was pained and full of hatred. Why could they not accept the inevitable? Seraphiel was a more powerful ruler and a stronger leader, and yet their feral eyes glittered with what madness they wished to unleash on these intruders.
And a few of them tried. Of course, Seraphiel had prepared. None got within three yards of them before they were tossed aside. Foolish. Sarai looked away from the faces, her hand warm in her love's. They entered the assembly with ease, a few men looking toward the new arrivals...some with fear and some with hatred. Would they really fight?
Her face was expressionless, her lips a thin line. Slowly, Sarai let her hand fall from Seraphiel's. She looked at him, blinking dark lashes before turning to approach a councilman. He grit his teeth at her approach, his muscles tense. He opened his mouth, ready to make a nasty comment before Sarai's hand came across his face. The slap rang through the quiet room as many stunned faces looked at her. The man before her stood, his face red and his eyes full of shock.
"Don't," Sarai warned.
A noise was heard as the knife he had hidden behind his back fell to the ground. Shock turned to shame, her golden eyes drowning him. "It is best...if you give up now. If you fight, more of you will die. Would you like to see that happen? Would you like to watch your friends and family be slaughtered. I guarantee you, I would love to kill them if it is your wish to continue this stupidity. If you cease your hostility now, perhaps we can work something out. Am I clear to you or shall I make a mark on your other cheek to match the first?"
The man shook his head, but Sarai saw the tears of pain for his dying city in his eyes. As she turned away from him, his shoulders shook with hidden agony. Sarai gave one last sharp glance to a man who stood in the corner of the room, his eyes glittering with too much hatred to bare. He would be a problem.
A shadow appeared beside him, golden eyes lustful for a prey's death. In one motion, the black griffon killed the man, poison-soaked talons crushing his neck. He fell to the ground silently, still unnoticed by the others in the room. Sarai nodded to the creature, returning to Seraphiel's side obediently. She found his hand once more, wondering where this would go now. Who else would want to defend what was left? Who else would die?

Carnage, Chaos, Death and Destruction. That had all happened in just a matter of days since Ertai had arrived in Amon Zoru. I must be quite the bad luck charm he thought as he leaped from tree to tree, his motions as natural as if he were walking on solid ground. While he moved through the forest which surrounded the "former" city of Amon Zoru, his thoughts paged through the last few days after the attack by the mysterious shinobi and those that had helped him. Countless had died, either at the hands of the invaders or fires that had rapidly consumed most of the wood-based buildings. Most of the rogues which had assisted the shinobi dissapeared into the forest, never to be seen again. Those that had remained gave the wounded Ertai quite a fight. In the end, the ruined city was left to its own demise, the invaders either gone or dead. All the previous leaders of Amon Zoru were dead, leaving the citizens in quite a state of chaos. Countless feared another attack, thus they packed up whatever belongings had survived the fires and fled to other towns and cities, becoming a part of the multi-racial populations once more. Those that stayed did their best to rebuild, Ertai helping out whenever he could. Still, his main priority was taking care of Ashara. She had been hurt far worse than he had, not to mention poisoned. The serum the ninja had given Ertai seemed to have worked though, therefore the rest was up to Ara.
"bloody hell, why am I always on guard duty anyways? I don't think those bastards are coming ba..."
The rest of his words caught on his tongue as he heard voices nearby. Stopping on a large branch, Ertai looked with sharp eyes towards the sounds. Judging by the voices, one was male, the other female. He'd not heard them in all his time in the area, leaving him to assume that these were either emissaries sent to aid them...or more invaders. Keeping entirely still, Ertai watched from his perch, finally seeing the two figures emerge. One was indeed male, tall and elegant-looking. Yet something about him gave Ertai quite a chill, whoever this man was, he was much more than what met the eye. The female was about a foot shorter than the white-coated man, her beauty almost unreal. She was hovering quite near the male, suggesting she held a close relationship with him. Suddenly, Ertai smelled something else, a bird? No...a griffon! Looking about quickly, he could not find any sign of the giant bird, but still the smell was unmistakable. Why would griffon riders be here? Something quite fishy was going on and Ertai did not like it...
He waited until the duo had walked into the village to move from the safety of the dense forest. Walking casually into Amon Zoru as though he'd just arrived, Ertai easily pursued his prey by their unique scents. Their final destination caused another chill to run up his spine: The council house. Temporary leaders of the city were in there right now, discussing ways to rebuild the city and perhaps prepare for any further invasions. Somehow Ertai had the feeling that the two newcomers weren't here to help out. Instinct told the tiger anthro to go find his beloved and get the hell out of here, but still he crept closer, quiet as ever, finding a wooden plank with a burnt side, leaving enough room to view inside the room. Immediately, he was greeted with the sight of a large black griffon crushing the life out of a councilman with its sharp talons. Eyes wide, Ertai knew something had to be done, but what?
His feet made up his mind for him, carrying him away from the council house as quickly as he could. He made his way to the temporary "barracks", a place where any willing to fight against any further intruders would be housed and armed at all times. Rushing in, he did his best to catch his breath, the sound of his sudden entry alerting a few anthromorphs in the room. Ertai looked as many as he could in the eye and said simply:
"...They're back. Get to the council house...now"
For a few moments, they all just stood their in slight shock, absorbing his words. Finally, they all moved at once, scrambling to find the nearest weapon they could get their hands, claws, or paws on. Very soon, the place had mobilized and within moments, a small army was heading for the council house. Ertai did not follow them. Instead, he ran to a house where he and Ashara had been staying. Bursting through the door, Ertai looked for his beloved, calling out to her.
"Ara! I think we might have a problem!"

Ashara had been quiet for the last few days. Her life had once been devoted to saving the things that she loved the most. Now she would have to look out at the city of Amon Zoru and watch it decay. Buildings had crumbled before her eyes, fire tearing through the streets like death itself. Never again did she want to see the frightened eyes of the people around her, wide and empty as if death had just claimed their souls.
So for several days, she had merely talked to the survivors and helped them with injuries. She herself had been quite sore, though it was better now. She could not rid herself of the images from the night it had happened and tried to busy herself with things so that she would not have to think back on it. Still her nightmares haunted her and made sleep impossible. Her pale skin could tell the story well enough.
Even now, sitting in the small wrecked home at the edge of Amon Zoru, Ashara felt a panic within her. What would happen to this place? The trees, the people? Would everything just die? She grit her teeth in pain and frustration. How dare they try to claim this place. How dare they touch her home...she would have called upon the very woods she protected to hunt the bringer of this disaster down.
Just then the door burst open, the many scents of the streets coming in with a gust of wind. Immeadiately Ashara could smell Ertai, a warm and lovely scent. And yet there was something cold that came through that door as well. Something familiar that made the hairs on her neck rise. Something was not right in Amon Zoru. Something was about to happen.
"Ara! I think we might have a problem!"
Ashara rose quickly from her place on the chair, unsheathing her claws and extending the silver curved talons fully. Her silver eyes glittered with a burning hatred. Her ears were back and her tail lashed. They were here...and she would make sure they never left with their heads still on their bodies. Baring her teeth, Ashara darted to the door, passing Ertai and letting her tail brush under his chin in a quick greeting and a signal to follow. It was not long before she was ahead of the small army and gracefully working her way up the walls of the council house. She peeked through a space near a door to see what happened inside, seeing the forms of a rather handsome elegant many and his beautiful companion. She was also able to see a black griffon, the smell of poison wafted off of its claws. The mere stench made her feel sick.
She leapt down to the ground gracefully, looking back to Ertai with wide eyes. "We have to do something Ertai! I won't let them leave here alive! Look what they have done!" She padded up to him quietly, pressing her forehead to his shoulder with affection. She let her tail wrap about his, her hands finding his as well.
"The problem ends now. Lead your army into the building and let us show these bastards whose city this is..."

Seraphiel saw the fear as well as the utter hatred in the eyes of those in the meeting room. Those two emotions, among others, were never felt by the omnipotent being. Why bother with such negative things, which only weakened the body and clouded the mind? He pitied them, each and every one of them. None would ever understand fully how to live as he did, for they were still only mortals. This was why he was here, to help them, whether they wanted it or not. He alone possessed knowledge that they could barely begin to fathom. He alone was the one who's plan for the world would benefit each and every one who believed in it, believed in him...
He watched calmly as Sarai boldly took on an anthro who appeared to have hostile intentions, stopping him in his tracks. Despite not having even a fraction of the power Seraphiel controlled, she took charge without hesitation, showing complete confidence that she could handle anything these men before them could muster. It made him smile all the more, for it made him proud to have her by his side. And then, her large griffin suddenly made its appearance, making short work of an anthro in the back corner of the room. Seraphiel's smile faded, thinking it unnecessary to show any further aggression unless the anthros decided to be foolish and be aggressive. Still, what was done was done, he had to move on, as he had so much to get accomplished... Feeling Sarai's hand slip into his own, his eyes moved around the room, speaking up once more, his gaze never missing a single soul.
"I am not here to slaughter. I came because I wish to make Amon Zoru an example of how my way of living can make the entire world of Vaenon prosper...Resistance is futile, for it will only bring you sorrow and death. Your bravest and strongest warriors are nothing to me, for I am one who has survived the centuries unscathed. My name is Seraphiel, and I wish to make all of your lives better, so long as you simply accept what I have to say and offer. Now then, since you are all the temporary "leaders" of this city, I want you to tell your remaining citizens of my plan. They can leave freely if they wish, but I can assure you that what I am creating is going to be a far better place to live in than what you can ever dream of. Again, resistance is not an option, unless you have a deathwish..."
His eyes fell upon Sarai, a sly smile upon his lips. Suddenly, the rapid sound of movement could be heard outside. Raising an eyebrow, Seraphiel looked towards the doorway. The wooden door shattered, a werewolf growling as he leaped forward from the debris, a steel battleaxe ready to cut Seraphiel down...Too bad the anthro had already left the building, the axe clattering to the floor at the Creator's feet. Seraphiel sighed, waving a hand, the axe turning to crystal, then shattering into a million pieces. His eyes began to glow orange, extreme magical energies radiating from his body. Concentrating for a brief moment, he looked to where the doorway had been opened from outside. Sounds of frustration and confusion suddenly could be heard as the attackers who had come to defend the council suddenly met with resistance. All around the meeting house the ground had suddenly been up heaved, crystals as strong as diamond rising up to form a protective wall around them. It was much easier for Seraphiel to do this than to keep a constant force field around the building. At least this way, he could concentrate on convincing those before him.
"That should keep them busy for a moment. Sarai...I know what you are thinking, but don't. Stay with me at all times and let me handle this. I told them I am not here to kill, and I won't if they don't force me to. You can't have a government if you have no one to govern..."
(fyi the crytal barrier is quite thick and forms a circle around the building. The roof is exposed, as well as the ground beneath though)

Sarai listened to Seraphiel speak, his words like honey on her heart. A wicked grin lit her face and eyes, his hand warm in hers. She loved him dearly and took joy in his power, his wisdom. He was the only Lord in her world and she would always follow him with loyalty and trust. All faith had been given to him as well as all of her love. She had to halves...a half for Seraphiel...and a half for everyone else. It was a shame, that looking at all these terrified faces, she wished to show the latter. Oh, how she longed to mount her griffon and litter the streets with lifeless anthromorphs...
And yet his voice cut through her thoughts solidly, giving her both a kind suggestion and firm order. "Sarai...I know what you are thinking, but don't. Stay with me at all times and let me handle this. I told them I am not here to kill, and I won't if they don't force me to. You can't have a government if you have no one to govern..." She knew he was right, after all. She knew that he was not only keeping her hands clean of blood, but he was keeping the life in her womb safe. And she obeyed, as she always did; her hand squeezed his gently and she gave him his favorite smile.
"As you wish, my love..."
Sarai watched as Kahbel approached her, pressing his black beak to her chest in an affectionate greeting. She met his eyes evenly, a bit of warmth in them. She knew that he, too, did not want her to leave this man's side. Sarai touched his cheek with her free hand, her fingers running through his feathers. He would not be leaving her either, unless ordered to. The griffon began to lick the blood from his talons and Sarai turned her gaze to the now blocked door. It seemed that an army of anthros were waiting outside, unwilling to let their city fall.
And oh, how their views would soon change...

Ertai wasn't surprised when his lover literally leaped into action, heading out the door without so much as a word. He knew she hated these invaders, whoever they were. So much carnage and bloodshed had gone on that day, some of that blood having been Ertai's. This alone was enough to light a fire in Ashara, he could see it in her eyes. She wanted them to pay for shattering the tranquility that had once been a part of Amon Zoru. He should have worried, but he didn't. After all, she wouldn't be alone. Not only was a small army rallying to face the new intruders, but he was going to make sure he was right by her side through it all.
"Wait up luv!"
With that, he dashed off after her, the same fire in his eyes as her, but for a different reason. These bastards had sent the shinobi which had caused his lover harm. He would make sure they would never be able to give such a command ever again. As he ran, his hands became weapons, razor sharp claws showing themselves. His every muscle tensed as he prepared himself for what was to come. He knew this was no ordinary enemy from his first sighting of the duo in the forest. The man in the white coat, something about him sent a chill down Ertai 's spine. But still, if Ara went, he would follow, for she was his world all over again, and he was not going to lose her again no matter what. Suddenly, he stopped in his tracks, Ara having rushed back to him, embracing him, his tension immediately disappearing. He returned her embrace and simply nodded in response to her words, giving her a comforting smile.
"Right then. Don't try to be a hero this time Ara, remember you've got me to deal with now..."
He winked and moved reluctantly from her embrace to join the army that was now gathering around the council building. Moving forward, he was about to make the first move when a wolf anthro moved forward, his movement soon becoming a tackling run. Gritting his teeth, Ertai could only watch as the wolf anthro crashed through the wooden door, easily getting past it. Hope seemed to spring forward for a split second...and then it was shattered as the wolf anthro was suddenly thrown out of the council building...quite forcefully. Ertai's eyes narrowed and he raised a hand, taking a gamble that numbers might be able to win them a swift victory.
"Everybody inside, let's show this bloke who's boss!!"
The others behind him roared, hissed, and grunted in agreement, all of them suddenly moving forward as they charged towards the now open doorway. Ertai joined them, seeing the white-coated man turn towards them all, a smile on his lips.
Just as it seemed the army would breach the doorway in a wave of force, the ground suddenly shook violently, sending many chargers sprawling. Ertai stopped in his tracks, knowing something was coming. He leaped back just in time to avoid a green spike shooting up from the ground. All around him, the ground was erupting with crystal, constantly rising upwards to the sky. Ertai could hear the surprised and fearful cries of his fellow anthromorphs, who were either pushed back roughly by the rapidly forming barrier, or pushed up into the sky without a single warning, only to fall pack to the ground quite painfully.
"Everyone back up!! Dont get caught up in this stuff!!"
The initial charge had failed, just like the original defense of the city. Ertai looked up, seeing the crystal barrier jutting defiantly in front of him, blocking him and the other defenders from the council building. He cursed under his breath, not liking this situation one bit. Looking around, he began to search for the one person whom was priority even over coming up with a new attack plan.
"Ashara!! Where are you!??"

Ashara's eyes were open and alert. Her ears flickered, catching bits and pieces of conversation around her. Their people were nervous, frightened and losing hope. In a way, she could not blame them. So many had died already...so many had lost family and friends. Ashara had wanted to make them pay and to take their city back from this Seraphiel man. Her silver eyes glittered violently.
She watched as a wolf anthro was tossed out of the building with little effort and the idea that it could be Ertai next made her taste a rising fear. She did not want to lose Ertai again...not after they had found each other from the last time they had been parted. She grit her teeth, watching as several anthros inched forward. She took a few steps toward the building as well, cautious and prepared.
And yet, perhaps she wasn't as prepared as she thought. The ground gave a tremendous shake, only Ara's catlike balance keeping her standing. She watched as a strange formation came rocketing up out of the ground and made a very daring move. As the crystal-like structure rose, she gave a leap and landed at the tip of a jagged piece. With a very easy grace, Ashara slipped over the edge and landed on the other side. Her slender body could barely fit between the wall of the building and the crystal guarding it. She could not see through it well, and her urge to find Ertai overwhelmed her.
Still, she had to fight for her people. She was inside of this thing, only one other anthro had made it with her; a young woman with white tiger stripes along her skin. Ara went to stand beside the woman who lashed her tail fiercely. It seemed that Ashara was not the only one who wanted this man's head that bad.
Next, Ashara looked for a way to take down this barrier. Her clawed hand reached into the pouch at her waist, taking out a few small beads. The beads were filled with a very explosive substance, though Ara was not sure how powerful it could be. If she could get several in the same spot, she might get a small hole...large enough for a few anthros to come inside. The risk would be worth it, even though they would be heard. Ara took the woman's hand and shared her plan.
Within moments they had taken action. Several clumps of the black beads were placed around the same area. The white tiger anthro took a few more, sliding her body between the wall and crystal and inching her way up to the exposed rooftop. Several beads were placed there as well. If they could blow a hole in the ceiling, it would cause damage below and allow more anthros entrance. Ashara waited for her friend's signal, a simple wave of the tail. And with that, Ara raked her claws along the side of a stone until sparks ignited the small piece of thread that lead to the clumps of explosives. The minute the thread was lit, Ashara scampered up to meet her friend on the roof. Taking the woman's hand, they leaped over the jagged crystal wall and landed roughly on the outside. They only got up when a satisfying explosion was heard.
The panther-anthro looked to see if damage had been caused. The roof had been blown apart, causing a gaping hole in the ceiling. The crystal wall, however, was only a bit thinner and blackened by smoke. Perhaps they could break through that spot...and yet she doubted it. Her eyes went back to the exposed rooftop. That would be their only means of entrance as of now. Ashara turned to find Ertai, padding over to him and taking his hand. Her own was black, covered in the chalky material that leaked from the beads. She was grateful that they had gotten out in time before the explosives went off.
"Not bad, huh? I must say, I am quite proud of myself. Who knew I had it in me to try and blow up our own council!" Ashara's eyes twinkled and her chest still heaved as the adrenaline rushed through her veins and her breathing slowed. She watched as several anthros took this time to bound up the building's walls, headed for the gap in the roof. Ashara tugged on Ertai's hand, heading for the opening as well.
"Come on, Ertai. It's time we fight this freak."

Ertai looked high and low for his lover, his search in vain. He began to panic, fearing the worst. Stopping in his tracks besides the crystal barrier, he did his best to compose himself. Relax Ertai. She's a resourceful gal, she's got to be fine, focus on the problem at hand... He moved up to the crystalline barrier, knocking his hand against it. Seemed pretty solid. Pulling out one of the enormous daggers he kept at his side, he pulled his hand back and then thrust with all his might. No such luck, the blade merely slid against the smooth crystal as though it was a child's toy.
"Well that's no good..."
Looking around, he watched as his fellow anthros were getting similar results with their weapons. Even the might of a full-grown bull anthromorph ramming up against the wall was only enough to cause the ground to stir up dust clouds from the impact. Frowning, Ertai knew his original impression of the white-coated man was quite true, he was no ordinary man.
"We might need some backup on this one..."
He turned away from the wall, his mind still slightly thinking of Ara, who had yet to show herself. But still, Ertai kept focused on plans to combat this white-coated intruder. Walking up to a cheetah anthro, he placed a hand on the man's slim, yet powerful shoulder.
"Jiraiya, I need you to run as fast as you can to the nearest village, town, or city. Let them know we are under attack and require aid. We're going to need all the help we can get, so spread the word alright??"
The cheetah simply nodded, knowing that Ertai was right. Withing moments, he was off running at top speed, his figure disappearing into the forest in record time. Ertai's only fear was that there might be other intruders lurking in wait in the forest, but hopefully the cheetah's speed would be enough to see him through. That backup plan taken care of, Ertai turned back to the crystal wall, the other anthros having stopped in their attempts to break the barrier, some of them gazing intently into the green walls, as though they saw something that Ertai did not. All of a sudden, there was a loud boom, the crystal walls shaking, but remaining unbroken.
"What the bloody hell?"
He hadn't seen Ara and the other female anthro leap from the confines of the council building, landing safely on the outside. Only when he picked up her familiar scent and then felt her hand take his did he realize what had happened. He turned to Ara and squeezed her hard, his worries returning.
"What did I tell you about playing hero? Jeez Ara, you coulda given me a heart attack. But nice work all the same, too bad it didn't crack this damn wall thing. Ive sent for reinforcements, more help can't hurt. As for dealing with this...whatever it is, looks like the only way to go from here is up...Got any ideas?"

Seraphiel had always found the anthromorph race to be much more different than the other races of the world. While the other races were relatively humanoid, the anthros were more closely associated with the beasts which roamed the landscape. This could be seen not just in their appearance, but in their behavior as well. It made them both easy and difficult to control, depending on the individual. Their Creator was also responsible for bringing most of the world's fauna into being, which made the anthros' overall 'design' understandable. It would be interesting to see how they would handle his politics. He gave a soft smile towards Sarai before turning to once more face the council members.
"My friends, I can make this all quite simple for you. There does not need to be any more bloodshed, all you have to do is accept the system I wish to establish here in your fair city. Yours is but one of the first steps I am taking towards shaping this world into a more prosperous, unified place to live. I just want one of you to go out to your people and tell them-"
Suddenly a large explosion could be heard, parts of the roof being blown to bits, raining down on the confused and frightened council members. Seraphiel simply paused in his speech, raising an eyebrow and making no other motion. He simply shook his head and sighed. They were still trying to get at him, like savage beasts. It was slightly annoying, but he had to admire their persistence. Obviously, they had somehow passed through the crystal wall, if only for a moment, just enough time to put on a show that Seraphiel was not the least bit impressed with. Squeezing Sarai's hand gently, he "spoke" to her telepathically before resuming his address to the council members.
Sarai, go see if any of the anthros have made it past the crystal. Do not leave its boundaries, just come back and tell me if any of them made it on this side. We don't want any further interruptions...[/color]
"Now then, ladies and gentleman, as I was saying, all I need you to do is have one of you go out there and tell your people that you have accepted my offer and that no further resistance will be made. I will be sending one of my followers to keep the peace after I depart from here. Believe me, you will all be grateful for this once it is all over, you will never have known a better world to live in."
He went silent, waiting for the council to make their decision. If they refused further, Seraphiel would have no choice, he would have to enforce his will by giving them another demonstration of his power. It was something he truly did not like, but all the same found it entirely necessary when it came to resistance against him.
(I suggest they vote to accept his offer, then Ertai and Ara can go start a resistance! ^_^)

It seemed that a large explosion, perhaps more than one, shook the ground. Sarai made no move to cower from the falling roof. Long ago she had lost fear of being hurt by such silly and trivial things. And why fear when her Creator stood by her side? Still, she wondered what the anthromorphs believed they could do. They could not stop Seraphiel on their own...in fact, no one could. Sarai believed this, and would not leave his side because of it. She felt a small hatred for the bit of anthromorph blood in her own veins. Still, Seraphiel had cleansed her of any impurities.
Sarai watched the room, her amber eyes steady and calculating. Only when she hard the brilliant voice of her master did she steal her gaze away from the unworthy anthromorphs and look at his handsome face. His words echoed with clarity through her mind... Sarai, go see if any of the anthros have made it past the crystal. Do not leave its boundaries, just come back and tell me if any of them made it on this side. We don't want any further interruptions...
She replied telepathically as well, her tone full of love and loyalty. As you wish, my love.
She neared the edge of the room, slipping out through the doors but staying inside of the crystal barrier. She saw what had caused the problem immediately. Black scorch marks covered the ground in several areas, including one heavily concentrated spot where the crystal had grown thin and along the edges of what was left of the roof. The gorgeous young woman walked within the borders, noting the paw prints inside. So it seemed that an anthromorph or two had gotten inside the defenses and attacked from within. A disgusted look twisted on her face. How dare they...
She returned to Seraphiel's side, slipping her hand in his and leaning her head against his arm. At least two were inside...they decided to play with some dangerous toys and tried to destroy the crystal. They did not get far, though they did manage to take down the ceiling. They can get in that way if they wish. You have a lot of company waiting outside. Some are already headed this way. May I play with them? Her 'voice' seemed quite longing, like a child deprived of a trip to the park. There was a darkness in it though, and even the ebony griffon at her side could sense it...and he felt a powerful bloodlust.

Ashara held her lover's hand, listening to him stress his worries. She squeezed his hand in an attempt to comfort him, though felt the same worry he did...even if it wasn't for the seem reasons. Though they had managed to blow a hole in the roof...it would be too large of a focus point. With only one point of entry, they would all be picked off like flies. Ara grit her teeth, tail lashing back and forth and her ears back. How the hell was the supposed to work?
She watched the anthros around her, feeling their nerves and yet their want to fight. She knew them all quite well...she may not be a leader, but she did see every one of these anthromorphs as her people. She wanted to protect them, to give them back their city. And yet, she knew that fighting here and now would be dangerous and futile. She would not risk so many lives, especially when the leader of the whole attack was in that very building. They weren't organized enough...they needed more time to think out strategies and solutions. She knew what needed to happen.
"Ertai, listen...we aren't ready to face him yet. We need to get organized, find allies...we can't fight him now! If we accept his offer, he'll have what he wants. But that does not mean we have to honor our temporary truce. Let him think we will bow don to him...let him think we have been defeated. I want to leave the city, Ertai. I want to find others to help us...if we are bound together with others who want to help the cause, we will be more powerful!" her voice shook from the effort it took to admit that she thought this would be useless. It seemed that she had drawn the attention of several anthros around her. They, too, seemed to agree in their own way. A few heads were nodded, a few hooves stomped, and a few ears flicked back in submission. Her eyes were pleading.
"Ertai...you and I can organize a resistance. We can fight him, but not now. Let all who remain loyal to Amon Zoru join us...we can find a place far from here and stay hidden while we work our plans. Now is not the time to fight him...now is the time to sit back and be patient while we become stronger..." she squeezed his hand once more, wrapping her tail around his and leaning her head to rest on his shoulder. She could see that many of her people drooped...hearts sank, shoulders fell, and many seemed on the verge of falling apart. But there was a flicker in their eyes that suggested they had not been defeated quite yet. A resistance...a rebellion...it was what they needed to bring their hopes and spirits back to life. A force to show this 'Seraphiel' that they would never give up...they would never quit fighting. The creatures of Vaenon would not be stopped so easily.

Even while in the comfort of his lover's embrace, Ertai's mind was abuzz with thought. This whole thing was a mess, from the time it had started to the here and now. Communication between the other races had been limited, whether or not Amon Zoru had been the first and/or only target on this white-coated intruder's list, they could only guess. Even after Ertai had helped to organize a defense force in the event of a future attack, it all meant nothing against this...man.
Ertai cast his gaze skyward, the sun still shining brightly overhead. If only it was like that one time, back during the war when he had become that...monster in order to fight his foes. But no, not only was it not even close to the same lunar alignment as that night he'd transformed, but looking around him, Ertai saw countless innocents, victims which could be caught in the crossfire. Not to mention he was a bit unwilling for Ara to see the monster he could become... Speaking of Ara, she snapped Ertai out of his thoughts suddenly by saying something he should have thought of the moment he saw that white-coated man entering Amon Zoru.
I want to find others to help us...if we are bound together with others who want to help the cause, we will be more powerful!"
She was right, he knew she was right, and the more she spoke, the more he realized how powerless they were against someone who could make such a powerful barrier out of seemingly nothing. Rei had little experience dealing with magic, and he doubted any of the others besides Ara did either. As his lover leaned against him, finishing her speech, Ertai looked around him one last time. The others who had gathered had heard her, and already many seemed to agree with her. Sighing, Rei nodded, squeezing Ara's hand gently and stroking her hair in hopes of comforting her during such a tense moment.
"Alright then, lets give the bastard what he wants. We'll come back, stronger than ever before, and this time, we'll be ready for him. Anyone who wants to follow us, now's your only chance. Once we leave, we disappear, and we won't reveal ourselves until we are ready to save what was once a town of peace and prosperity. From now on, we are the Resistance...Now lets go..."
With that, he slowly broke the embrace from Ara, reluctantly pulling his tail from hers, yet keeping her hand clasped within his own. He eyed those he had just spoken to for a brief moment before turning completely and walking away from the crystal wall. Immediately, the crowd surrounding the barrier was abuzz with talk. Some began to follow Ertai almost immediately, while a few others seemed reluctant to leave. Never once looking back, Ertai whispered to his lover.
"I hope you know that you've just signed up to be the leader of this little group of ours, because I have a feeling they are going to need one. Whatever happens, Ill always be there, right by your side...I love you Ara..."
