The Astolam river cut its way through the landscape, the lush green banks making the scene beautiful to behold. A young dragoon flew above it, following the meandering river course on pale blue wings, the wind ruffling his white hair. It seemed so far removed from the wars and troubles that were plaguing Vaenon.
The young dragoon carefully landed in an area not too densely populated with large plants and withdrew his wings through slits in the back of his coat, merging them once again with his body. He sat down, leaning back on his hands and closed his eyes, the gurgling of the river relaxing him.
You know trouble with reach Pharlen before long. A voice sounded in Ptolemy's mind with perhaps a hint of concern.
"I know Hyorinmaru, and when the time comes we will stand and fight, before then however....let us enjoy the peace." Ptolemy replied out loud to his dragon spirit, laying down and resting his arms behind his head.
The sun beat down upon him, making Ptolemy hot and uncomfortable. And what did I say about laying in the sun? Came a scathing comment, sounding like it was being said to a disobedient child. Ptolemy sat bolt upright, a bitter look of annoyance on his face. "I'm not a child anymore!" he snapped, pulling open his coat and shirt to stare menacingly at the piece of aquamarine that was flush with his chest. Hyorinmaru only laughed until the sun caught the gem. The dragon spirit shut up and the heating gem caused an uncomfortable burning sensation in Ptolemy's chest. Alright, I take it back! You're not a child, just get in the shade will you? "There's a good ice dragon." Ptolemy smirked, pulling his shirt and coat closed with a sigh of relief and clambering into the shade.
