It had been sometime since Rahn had fallen from the attack that was lead by Carmaus. The mighty palace was mostly obliterated and destroyed by his very own flames and the others that had fought their way out. What remained of the palace was charred black and crumbling apart as time wore on. Some spots still were on fire as if an undying flame sat upon it. And sitting on the king's throne was none other than the crimson haired anthromorph, Carmaus. His scarlet glare staring out into the distance beyond those that were still there. He didn't find it very suiting for him having to sit here and rule over this place. He wasn't leader at least he didn't think himself as one.
Many people fled and some stayed because they had no where to turn to. However, Carmaus didn't allow the bandits and thugs that escaped the dungeons much more liberty than what they had inside of their cells. Dispite what he had done to take care of overthrowing this place, he didn't want so many crimes happening especially since that was somewhat under Seraphiel's orders. A few of the prisoners have mustered up courage to try and kick Carmaus out of the picture. Only to have themselves burned to ash or killed within a few minutes by the dragon anthromorph. Their bodies littering the floor before the thrown. These bodies even included would be heroes except for those that didn't know what they were really doing.
He had sent out a few of the remaining soldiers that felt that their loyalties lied within the Rahn and their true king, Orion. He had given them the simple command of patroling their own streets and to warn any that approached the castle. Simply to protect other people's lives. They did as they were told only because it was in the intrest of their own people. Carmaus had wondered why he had told them to do such things in the first place. He looked down at the necklace that had the talisman connected to it. Seraphiel had produced this item and given it to him. The creator was a bit more of something then Carmaus really knew.
He gave a sigh as he tucked it away back into his coat pocket and stared off into the sky. Random thoughts picking at his mind, wondering what was gonna happen next, when the next fight was gonna be, and how long was he going to sit here and do nothing. However, it was only during while he was looking at the darkened sky that it seemed to get darker as if something of the sort was even possible. He had read of such things, usually when someone of great importance or great power was defeated. Most were related to folk lore or legends. Regarding ancient spells and enchantments that helped protect Vaenon. Carmaus let out another heavy sigh as he changed his gaze back to ground level staring out towards what was infront of him with boredom.

Little did Carmaus know, he would be getting a surprise visit from Seraphiel that very day. Despite his busy 'schedule', the Creator felt it would be wise to check up on the dragon anthromorph, knowing full well that the anthro was growing bored. Not that Seraphiel blamed him, what little resistance the humans had left was in no way a match for Carmaus's might. Still, even Seraphiel could not keep an eye on everything at once. He needed Carmaus in order to keep Rahn under control while he slowly but surely 'converted' the rest of Vaenon's major cities.
As soon as Carmaus had his gaze back at ground level, he was greeted with the sight of Seraphiel himself, cold smirk and all. He was standing with his hands calmly tucked into his white coat pockets just a few feet away from the throne where Carmaus sat. This time, he wore no spectacles upon the tip of his nose, his eyes as orange as the setting sun. It was the only noticeable sign that Seraphiel had been up to something as of late, and it had to do with a certain intruder that had barged his way into his citadel only a few hours ago. Before the anthro could speak, Seraphiel spoke forth, his tone as calm and elegant as ever.
"I can see Rahn still has a ways to go before its castle can be returned to its former glory. Ever consider being a king Carmaus? No? I didn't think so. I don't have to read your mind to know you are wondering why I'm here. The answer is quite simple, I'm checking up on you so we can discuss what has transpired in these last few months. Oh and don't bother getting up, I've got a seat of my own anyways..."
With a single mental command, crystal suddenly erupted from the ground at Seraphiel's feet. It grew and stretched until a chair had fashioned itself out of the magical gemstone. Sitting down upon the crystal chair, Seraphiel calmly eyed his firey follower, as though waiting for him to say something of interest.
(bah...so crappy, sorry buddy, its not been a good day...)

When Carmaus's eyes fell upon the Creator that had materialized infront of him, he was somewhat surprised. He didn't show it for very long however. The anthromorph simply gazed back at the eyes of Seraphiel. The eyes were orange in color that radiated of that of a demon. A chill ran up and down Carmaus's back and neck. A mix of excitement and probably fear was just tingling in every form of his body. So what he had felt in the atmosphere was indeed something magical going on.
He didn't plan on replying to Seraphiel's comments. In fact, the only question on the dragon anthromorph's mind was "what had just transpired?" Something had happened, he could feel some of the creator's true power leaking out from still trying to compress it all. Those eyes could not lie and say that he didn't get his hands dirty with something. What had happened? Who had managed to force this creature before him to bring out more power than what Carmaus had experienced? Questions such as these probably wouldn't be answered.
"So please enlighten me." Carmaus replied in a rather monotoned voice. Whatever Seraphiel had to say was probably better than what any local grunts had to ask him. He gave sigh thinking back a bit. A certain person came to mind, but the thought wasn't there long. His crimson eyes focused on the one who had produced a crystal throne before him. It was true that Rahn would take a while before it would be rebuilt. But that really wasn't part of Carmaus' concern at the moment.
(ugh...mine wasn't that much better)

Carmaus's lack of enthusiasm upon noticing Seraphiel's arrival did not surprise or even offend the Creator one little bit. It was to be expected from a man such as Carmaus, a being who held only one single passion, the burning desire to be the strongest. The anthromorph's enlistment in Seraphiel's "army", was simply a reason for him to put his skills to the test. Seraphiel had given Carmaus exactly the kind of challenge he'd been waiting for, putting him up against the king of humans himself. Throughout the entire attack on Rahn, Seraphiel had been watching, far away in his citadel. He was impressed time and time again when Carmaus demonstrated not only brute force, but cunning in the form of his battle tactics and his invasion plan. Causing a prison breakout was genius. With such a distraction, the castle was easily placed into a state of pure chaos, which only served to set the stage for the deciding battle between Carmaus and Orion. In such a battle, there was only one thing to be seen, two warriors, masters of fighting, living weapons pitted against one another. The fight caused Seraphiel to realize just how strong the current inhabitants of Vaenon were, even after centuries had passed since the time of the Creators. With Carmaus's victory, Seraphiel knew he couldn't have picked a better follower to have attacked Rhan.
Now in the present, Seraphiel gave a nod in response to Carmaus. The man wanted answers, and Seraphiel would tell him everything and more. He wanted Carmaus's support, and part of the reason he had come to Rahn was to give the battle-hungry anthromorph another fight to feed his burning passion. Crossing his arms calmly, the orange-eyed Seraphiel began to update Carmaus, his tone as calm as his posture.
"After Rahn fell, the other cities I targeted began to succumb as well. The others did not have quite as much to deal with as you did, and now we stand many steps closer to our goal of making the perfect world. All that is left to stand against us is the capital cities of the dragoons and the samurai. Those poor souls seem to think Ive left them out for a reason, but the truth of the matter is I was simply saving the best for last...The samurai capital shall be next to fall, I suspect that their leader will be returning there shortly, as he fled from the griffin capital before we were able to take it over. The samurai are strong, but they are few. Still, I will be making quite sure that whomever I send there is up to the task...Pharlen, the dragoon capital is a place where practically every resident is a force to be reckoned with. It is there that it all shall end. This last battle, I myself will be attending. Ive already lost a few followers to the "resistance", and I would prefer to keep the casualties on my side low..."
He gave a slight smirk, pausing, knowing that Carmaus cared little about those that fell in battle. Still, that was all he felt was needed to fill the dragon anthro in on what had transpired in the last few months. He left out the fact that he knew that Orion was still alive and in a coma, or the information on the battle between himself and David. Such matters were of little importance at the moment. For now, he had a job for Carmaus.
"I can see that you are growing tired of this job. Not that I blame you, there is fighting going on all around you and you are forced to remain here away from it all. I know you want another challenge, so I have found one for you. It has come to my attention that after we took over the shinobi capital Mizukage, there was a number of shinobi who were able to escape into the forest. After scanning a memory or two, I learned that one of these shinobi was quite special. You see, this one I speak of has been around for quite some time What I find interesting is that he seems to have a lifespan quite similar to mine, which I can tell you truthfully is quite uncommon. I believe he knows some things about me that could prove to be quite troublesome if it got out to any of our enemies. In fact, there is something I believe he might know about that I would very much like to learn...What I am asking of you Carmaus is to find this man and take him down. I already know he will never join me, no matter how much I try to persuade him. All I need him for is to find out the whereabouts of something Ive been looking for ever since I started my plans for changing this world. Do your best to defeat him, but be careful not to kill him. This is going to be quite difficult, because if I am right about this "Nagashi Mizu", his origins will make him quite the powerful foe. What do you say Carmaus? Up for another challenge?"
Seraphiel went silent, that same grin returning to his lips. He was quite sure he knew what Carmaus was going to say, and he also knew that if he was successful, this "war" would be finding its victor very soon...

Carmaus listened intently to what Seraphiel was speaking. At first, it was nothing much but what else had been going on and how the other cities had fallen. He then heard of the remaining two. The samurais didn't bother him or even made him worry. He felt that they were just like humans, just a bit more skilled with a sword. He then however, heard of the next city. Pharlen, the dragoon capital. Just the name of it sent chills up and down his own spine. Every resident would prove to be a challenge. It was something that Carmaus would enjoy very much. In fact, there was probably a few dragoons that he'd end up running into that he had known. And probably one that he had defeated several years ago in a tournament.
However, Seraphiel spoke of something else about a single shinobi. At first, the dragon anthromorph thought the creator was talking about the hokage. But then the name was revealed to him. This 'Nagashi Mizu' was someone that he had never heard of. However, you didn't hear much about the different shinobi. They were usually refered to a particular name that described them some how.
Carmaus, even though a very blood thirsty being, had to think for a while before even considering this mission. Even though Carmaus himself was cunning and tactful along with his overwhelming power, shinobi were considered to carry much more tactics. They never had one plan and they usually had all their bases covered from the start. The more intelligent the shinobi the more difficult, the more difficult that would be able to defeat. That was a fact. He had remembered when the current hokage had participated in that tournament before he gained his title of leadership. He had defeated Orion not out of power, but out of tactics and with a reserve of more power when in desperate measures. Carmaus, himself, was barely able to defeat the shinobi back then.
"Nagashi Mizu?" Carmaus repeated the question back to Seraphiel. Another chill ran up his spine. The creator didn't want the ninja dead, but defeated into submission for Seraphiel's desires. Carmaus closed his eyes and rubbed his forehead as if it was hurting from all the thought. If he were to go, he would have to be more careful than he was with Rahn. Rahn was a reckless mission and easy to accomplish. Seeking out a single shinobi and beating him into submission was going to prove harder than this. He gave a sigh and slowly rose up from the thrown that remained. "Do you know where he currently is at?" he asked.

Seraphiel expected Carmaus to jump at the chance to go on a mission, especially one which involved a fight. He was caught by surprise when he saw simply by the look on Carmaus's face that he was not as eager as he'd thought. Why the sudden lack of enthusiasm? A simple scan of the dragon anthro's mind told Seraphiel that the man was simply being cautious. The best warriors were those who could live to fight another day, and Carmaus knew that this would not be as easy as the assault on Rahn had been. This made Seraphiel smile, for it boosted his confidence in Carmaus even further than it had been before.
He was right to be wary. Shinobi were crafty, their battle tactics shrouded in mystery just like their culture. In battle, they were the ones who could come back without a scratch. Out of all the existing races in today's Vaenon, the shinobi were the ones who held the most amount of magical power, rivaled only by the dragoons, which were much fewer in number.
And then there was the fact that only Seraphiel knew. This Nagashi Mizu was no ordinary shinobi. Long ago, the Creators made their first "prototypes" for their individual races, their own creations. While the prototypes provided excellent data in how such an organism would function, they were often terminated before the final product would be made. However, there was an exception, a prototype which was allowed to live, serving willingly beside his Creator as centuries passed. The fact was, Nagashi Mizu, the very first shinobi, was still alive in this era, and as such he held knowledge that few in this time could even hope to comprehend. It was this very reason that Seraphiel wanted to "chat" with this rarity. He had quite a few questions for the man. Calmly folding his hands back in his lap, Seraphiel answered Carmaus's question.
"I'm afraid I don't. The shinobi are a crafty race, he's put some anti-scrying spell up so that I cannot find him. However, recently Ive acquired a bit of luck in the matter. One of the shinobi that had escaped with him was spotted on the outskirts of what is now called the Forest of Anuria. I have a strong feeling that you will find the one you are looking for there...But Carmaus, remember, this is not going to be an easy task. Something tells me that the ones who are against my dream are rallying, and there is a good chance Nagashi will not be alone. I will be keeping a close eye on you, and if things get bad, Ill either send help, or bring you back. You are a powerful warrior, but it would be a shame for you to not live long enough to see the results of our struggles...So, are you up to the task?"
He went silent, his expression unchanging. He knew Carmaus was one of his strongest, and if anyone could handle this mission, it was him. Still, if he refused, Seraphiel would not judge him, after all, for all they knew, he had just asked the anthro to go on a suicide mission...

Carmaus rolled the name of the location around with the other information of this mission. Trying to predetermine an outcome that would be in his favor. But as Seraphiel spoke, he knew that there would be more than one shinobi. It was well known that they traveled in groups and went on missions in at least groups of three. Usually each of their skills benefiting from each others and capable of performing well laid traps and executing perfected tactics. The dragon anthro was at least expecting to see at least another two shinobi with this Nagashi.
The trouble in this was trying to get the other two incapable of battle. One shinobi is more trouble then bargained for, three would be straight out lunacy. On the verge of saying no and declining Seraphiel's request, Carmaus stopped himself. Instinct was telling him to go. His dragonic need to prove himself and to overcome every challenge was something that he could not ignore. He chuckled to himself before coming to realize that this fight was going to be one that he couldn't plan for. He was going to have to go in and do what came natural to him.
Carmaus rose from the throne that he sat on and gazed into the orange eyes of Seraphiel. Those demonic eyes that he was starting to get somewhat twitchy of. Carmaus had to fight back the urge of challenging this guy himself. But that was something that the anthromorph wisely kept in check at least for the moment. "I will go." he finally answered, "And find this Nagashi Mizu. I'll beat some sense into him, if I'm not killed first."

Seraphiel nodded once Carmaus gave his reply. He had a feeling Carmaus would step up to the challenge, despite the fact that the odds might be stacked against him. Still, even if he met resistance, the dragon anthro would be sure to give any who took him on quite a bit of trouble (not to mention pain). Seraphiel knew better than most just how dangerous a dragon could be, which was one of the many reasons he kept his fiery follower constantly out on the battlefield. He had done well with Rahn, but that was only the beginning. This mission would prove to be a turning point in the war that was now being fully waged upon Vaenon. If Carmaus successfully captured Nagashi, Seraphiel would be one step closer to finding out exactly where his lost weapon had gone to.
Omega, his trusty sword from ages past. With it, Seraphiel would finally return to his fully strength. When the blade finally reached it's master's hands once again, Seraphiel would personally lead an attack against the final stronghold of resistance, the dragoon capital of Pharlen. He only hoped the "resistance" would not be foolish enough to try and storm his citadel first, for it could yield highly unwanted results, on both sides.
Getting up from his crystal seat, Seraphiel placed his hands in his coat pockets, his eyes never leaving Carmaus. Nodding again, his eyes wandered briefly to the necklace he had given Carmaus when he had first agreed to join him. The man had yet to truly tap into the necklace's power, but Seraphiel had a feeling that in the battle that was sure to come, he would be. Speaking calmly, the Creator gave his final words of encouragement and instruction, already weaving a teleportation spell in which to take him back to his citadel.
"Very well, go then to the forest of Anuria and seek out the shinobi. Nagashi is the only one I want, so do what you wish to any others you come across...Remember, Ill be watching, so don't be surprised if I decide to send some help...Good luck Carmaus, try to make it back alive, I want you to survive long enough to see the world that you are helping to create..."
With that, he vanished, leaving Carmaus to his thoughts. Thousands of miles away, Seraphiel reappeared in his citadel, giving a slight sigh as he took his hands from his pockets, walking to his throne room. There was still much to be done, much to change for the better...

Carmaus heard the words of the creator as he told him the location that he would be traveling too. He turned around fixing to walk away. He decided that he would go and hunt this shinobi down. It was when he heard the other being's concern of wanting him to stay alive. He wasn't sure just how much truth was in this as he did sense some sort of secrecy in the matter. But then again it was hard for the dragon anthro to trust anyone.
After Seraphiel was not to be seen by normal eyes, the dragon anthro began to leave. He took up his things which basically consisted of a single sword and a bow and quiver filled with arrows. He walked down the steps that were in front of the throne. He had managed to keep some order within this city's walls, but with him gone he wasn't sure if it would truly stand and figured more than likely that it would finish it's plummet into chaos and anarchy.
After a few miles away from the city and within the forests, he shifted into his dragonic form. It would be faster to fly to his destination than to go by foot. He took off into the air letting out a deafening roar as his crimson form crossed the skies above heading towards his target and forests of Anuria. A place both filled with familarity and oddities alike. Ever so crossing his mind as he continued to try and formulate a strategy to take down the shinobi known as Nagashi.
