"Aye. I see. I dunno though. I mainly just wanna get rid of it, an' let someone who'll enjoy havin' such a sword have it. It's only a burdon for me." Mel answered "I'll take your offer, an' as for seein' what I can do, I think I'll go check on your wife, then stop an' watch the fight." she added, just as the loud noises came from outside, she watched as Max dashed outside, and then she heard the calamity, and saw Victor rush in and back out , and so on. She stepped out of the door, and saw the two drafts standing in the yard, but, where was Dreamer?
She grabbed a buckt of rain water and joined in on the fight, to stop te blaze, about two hours after this had all started, it was over. The fire had been a mightly one, even for the rain, falling upon it, and finally it was out. she dropped the bucket and walked back to the shop, and leaned against the wall, slidding her back down it, and setting on the ground. What had started the fire? Where was her horse? was she still trapped inside, underneath the rubble that was once the stable? Mel had not heard the whinnies or saw Dreamer bolt off, so she had every right to assume those thoughts. Tears started down her face, she covered her face with her hands, hping no one'd see her crying. Hoping that those thoughts were wrong and that dreamer'd come back.

After the blaze had finally died out, the tavern owner and Max started discussing the incident together, while Ferthis kept and eagle-eye on it to watch for flare-ups, and Victor, now more black than white, picked up a full bucket and sat a few feet from Mel, sweat lining his muscled body in equal amounts as the black grime. He dropped the the bucket's contents over his head, washing away a portion of the grime on his face and shoulders. He leaned into the wall, chest heaving. "I'm getting too old for this..." He muttered between labored breaths. He turned his head slightly and looked at the woman beside him out of the corner of his eye. "You know whose horse that was that bolted? Frisian, I think, but I didn't get a good look at it."
A blonde teen made her way around the dissapating crowd, tending to the minor injuries, before stopping in front of Victor. "You alright, Uncle?"
Victor glanced himself over briefly, pulled a few pieces of wood from his skin in various places, flicked debrees off, and nodded solemnly. The girl gave him a suspicious look and picked a sliver of wood from his scalp, one that was slightly bleeding, but moved on all the same, stopping on front of Mel. "Miss? Are you alright? Are you hurt?"

"Aye! I know who's horse it was. It was mine an' aye she's a Friesian." Mel answered the man, and smiled, "Are the other horses ok?" she then added, then the young lasy appeared, she turned her gaze to her, "Aye! I'm fine, although I don't know about my horse. She bolted off before anyone could get a hold on her." she then answered, and sighed. "Hopfully she'll return soon though. I'm sorry if the fired been caused by something she or I did." she then said, with a grimace. "What could've started it anyhow? All I rember is seeing some wet hay, that'd just been brought in." she then added.
"I think I'm goin' to go back inside, now that this all over with. If you will all excuse me, This has just been to much excitement for one day." she then said, and turned, walked back to the building, entered it, and flopped down in the first chair she came to. A short ways out of town, Dreamer slid to a halt, then turned her head, stareing back at the town, and whinnied. She then whirled and took off, back towards town, she reached the town just as the blaze had been put out. She turned and headed for the smithy, and halted as she came into the back yard. she lowered her head and sniffed of the debrees and rubble, that lay on the ground, raised her head and whinnied to the other horses and humans that were still there, Mel had just entered the smithy when she arrived. She stood stareing at the humans, scanning them for Mel, but, didn't find her.

"Hmph, yeah, those two are fine. They've survived a hell of a lot worse, that's for sure. Mzuleft is starting to look like I do." Victor muttered with his eyes closed.
"Well, by the look of it, your horse was fine, miss. I'm sure she'll be back, horses, in my experience, come back more often than keep going." The girl said in a comforting tone. "I doubt it had anything to do with you or your horse. The owners of the stable have been warned by several people to stop keeping wet hay in there. My guess is that was it."
"Be my guest, miss. I think I know exactly what you mean." Victor groused, drawing a sideways glance from his niece. "I think I'll stay with the rain, though."
After watching Mel go back inside, and after Dreamer came back, Ferthis narrowed her eyes at the horse and called to her husband, who was tieing the two drafts to a long horizontal pole sheltered under the lip of the roof.. "Max, get that horse, would you. Oh sweet daughter of mine, tell out guest her horse came back, then watch the shop. Victor, get off you lazy backside and help me dig through this mess." She barked in an authoritative tone. Max nodded and approached Dreamer slowly, speaking in a soft tone, and reaching for the reigns, while Victor blinked an eye open, muttered a few unintelligable things, and got up.
Ferthis' daughter stepped inside the smithy and walked past Mel, speaking as she moved, "Your horse seems to have come back, by the way." She said as she continued walking. She sat in a wooden chair near the furnace, checked the metal inside, and started fletching arrow shafts.

"Well, If you like the rain, then who am I to ask you to come in out of it?!" Mel answered, stareing out the open door, "Really? That's great news. Thank you." she answered, as the girl told her about Dreamer's return. THe rain begain to slowly die, until finally, it came to a halt. Dreamer stared at the approaching man, and stood there, watching him get closer and closer, then just as he'd reached her she shook her head and sent water cascadeing all over him, whinnied, as if laughing, then bolted off. She made a wide circle around the building and came to halt beside the other two horses, and stood quietly, and still, like she'd been there the whole time the others had been, and she turned her gaze back at the humans, and watched them wearily, ready to take off again should any of them get close.

The teen nodded idly and returned to fletching. "A fine looking horse, if I do say so myself."
Max blinked, spit water, and shook his head with an indignant glare. Both Ferthis and Victor looked up from digging through the smoldering ruins of the stable, but only Ferthis grinned. Victor just turned back back to his work. Max threw his hands up, turned, and walked back into the smithy without a word, not even bothering to try again. He turned towards his guest as he headed back to the furnace. "Your horse has a sense of humor, you know that? You can catch the beast, I'm too old to chase down animals designed specifically to run."
A few moments later, Victor followed inside the shop, hand firmly gripping a point on his right fore-arm. Blood was trickling from under his hand, and he looked particularly annoyed. Without a word, he passed by his questioning niece, found a rag, ran it through a bucket of water, and wrapped his arm. He sat down and waited for the bleeding to stop, so as to better seal the minor gash. "Anybody know how to stitch? I can't do it left-handed all that well, and I have a class to teach."

Mel laughed at Max's remark "Aye I know that's just the way she is." she then answered, Then turned and walked out the door and over to where te horses were. Dreamer let her tie her to the post, beside the orthers. "You silly goose, are you showin' off in front of these nice people an' those two boys?" she asked as she petted the horse's nose. She then re-entered the smithy and sat back down in the chair she'd just got up from. "No problem, she's just bein' a show off in front of the other horses." she said looking at Max, she then turned her gaze towards the door as Victor came inside, "I can." Mel said "I'm not the great, but, I've a few experiances with sttchin'. If you're not affraid I'd hurt yah." she then added, and smiled. "I feel like I need to do something to repay the kindness that all of you have shown me. I don't want to be such a burdan, or at least feel as thugh I am a burdan."

Before Victor could reply, Max chuckled as he pulled a red-hot piece of metal from the furnace. "Victor's willing to spar with my daughter, I don't think he's afraid of someone with a needle." He said as he hammered on the strip of steel a few times.
Victor shrugged and appropriated a needle from a sewing kit, as well as a long strand of wire not much different from fishing line. He paused Max's hammering and laid the needle on the glowing ingot for awhile, before slipping it off and holding it carefully. He allowed it to cool enough to be comfortably handled, threaded it, and handed it to Mel, before sitting down and taking off the makeshift bandage. Blood was no longer running as freely from the wound, but it was still seeping slightly. He wiped it off once and placed his arm on the nearby table. "Alright, do your worst."

Mel took the needle and began stitching the wound back together, she shakily and slowly stitched along, until finally the wound had been closed "There...Finished." she said with a sigh, and smiled. "It's been awhile since I've done that. So forgive me for bein' so shakey an' slow." she then added, as she laid te needle down on the table, and leaned back in the chair. She then turned her gaze to the open door and sighed "Well the rain's compleately stopped. I guess Dreamer an' I'd better be goin'." she then said, hoping they'd invite her to stay longer, but, knowing she said they'd only stay until the rain stopped.
